Yin Yoga and Tibetan Singing Bowls at The Studio Yoga x Fitness, Dubai

I'm in Dubai for a couple of days and I wasn't sure if I would have time to check out any studios whilst I am here.  I had seen on Instagram a post about an upcoming monthly event held at The Studio DXB.  I'm a sucker for a good yin class and sound healing.

I decided to book a spot and head on down to the studio on Saturday evening. Remember out here in the Middle East, Saturday is the end of the weekend so the perfect way to set up for the week ahead.  I had messaged Sophie the lovely studio owner about getting there.  She was super helpful as I'm not overly familiar with the area the studio is in.

The studio is really intimate and well thought out.  When I arrived the class had been set up with all the props out and was candle lit. Everything that I could imagine being used was out neatly and looked like it was brand new. The candles added a soothing atmosphere. What could possibly be more relaxing?  Anastacia was welcoming and speaking to everyone who attended.

The yin flow included Somatic movement with the focus to slow down and take time to observe and notice. The slowing down with somatic movement helps to improve motor control and release chronic pain. It was interesting to observe how much tension were in my shoulders and jaw.

The hour of yoga passed quickly. We settled into our savasana and were ready to receive the sound bath by Dalbir. She led us through a 30min Tibetan bowls session. I would highly recommend check out a session. It's a great way to bring the focus back to yourself. The photos don't capture the magic created in the studio.

Check out The Studio Dubai here or follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
